5月のChat Salonでは、Philippeさんによる南フランスの暮らしについてのShort Speechが行われました。南フランスの日常や文化、食べ物などについて紹介していただき、日本との違いについても知ることができる興味深い内容でした。

その後のSessionでは、「Personal Update. What’s New with you?」をテーマに、いつものように英語でおしゃべりをしました。写真や小物を見せながら近況を紹介している参加者もいて、和やかな雰囲気の交流となりました。

On May 9th, the MIFA Chat Salon activity began at 10:00 AM with an opening session led by the MC, who welcomed all participants and introduced the schedule for the day. The atmosphere was friendly and relaxed, allowing attendees to comfortably interact with one another from the beginning of the session. Following the introduction, the main presentation was delivered by Philippe, who shared a talk about the lifestyle and culture of Provence, France. During his presentation, Philippe spoke in detail about the beautiful and peaceful environment of Provence, describing the unique way of life, local traditions, and the charm of the region. 

 

 

He also introduced several places that were personally meaningful to him, including locations he used to visit. Through his stories, participants were able to learn not only about the scenery and culture of Provence, but also about Philippe’s personal memories and experiences growing up there. In addition, he talked about his sister’s place and shared anecdotes connected to family life in the region, which made the presentation feel warm and personal. The session provided participants with an opportunity to gain cultural knowledge, practice communication skills, and enjoy an engaging international exchange in a relaxed setting.

 

 

After the presentation, the event continued with the next session, which followed the usual MIFA Chat Salon discussion style. All participants were divided into several small groups, and the international participants acted as coordinators for each group discussion. The discussion theme for this session was to share something new that each participant had recently experienced, learned, or discovered. Participants were given around 30 minutes to discuss the topic within their assigned groups, allowing everyone to freely exchange opinions, experiences, and stories in an interactive and supportive environment. The conversations covered various personal experiences and cultural perspectives, making the discussions both interesting and meaningful. After the first discussion session ended, participants changed groups and continued discussing the same theme with different members for another 30 minutes. This rotation system allowed participants to meet and communicate with more people, practice their speaking and listening skills, and gain new perspectives from individuals with different backgrounds and experiences. Overall, the activity encouraged active participation, cross-cultural communication, and deeper interaction among all attendees.

In conclusion, the MIFA Chat Salon activity on May 9th was a meaningful and enjoyable experience for all participants. Through Philippe’s presentation about the lifestyle in Provence and the interactive group discussions, participants were able to learn about different cultures, exchange personal experiences, and improve their communication skills in an international environment. The small group discussions also created a welcoming atmosphere where everyone could actively participate and connect with new people. Overall, the event successfully promoted cultural understanding, communication, and friendship among the participants, making the activity both educational and memorable.
