第１４６回MIFA Chat Salonのご案内

皆さま、こんにちは。
２０２５年１2月のMIFA Chat Salon開催のご案内です。
１2月はヨーロッパを起点に活躍中のサロンの昔の仲間、高橋さんによる「Scotland and Flanders」というテーマのショートスピーチがあります。ScotlandとベルギーFlanders地方の興味深い文化や歴史などが紹介されます。お楽しみに。

6月よりMIFA CHAT SALONのご案内は都合によりメールでの配信を中止し、ブログ、FBに掲載しております。是非皆様のお知り合いとご一緒にお越しください！

    1. 日時：２０２５年１2月6日(土）１０：００‐１2:00 　
※Chatの時間を最大限確保するため、早めに受付にお越しください。 
２回のセッションを実施しテーブルが変わります。受付時、赤黒２枚の番号札をお受け取り下さい。12月は参加スタッフに限りがあり、コーディネーターは配置いたしません。テーブル毎にリーダーを決めて進めてください。

2025/11/1語でおしゃべり 開催報告

11月のChat Salonでは、Sylviaさんが「Festivals in Germany」というテーマでショートスピーチをしてくださいました。ドイツの伝統的な祭りや、Sylviaさんの地元・デュッセルドルフで行われるイベントについて、写真とともに楽しく紹介していただきました。普段なかなか聞くことのできないドイツの文化の一面に、皆さん興味津々の様子でした。

その後のチャットセッションでは、参加者の皆さんがリラックスした雰囲気の中で英語での交流を楽しまれていました。
また、今回は特別企画として、軽食を囲んだランチセッションも開催。立食パーティーのようなにぎやかな雰囲気の中で、普段よりもゆっくりとお話しできる時間となりました。

    This month, we welcomed Sylvia-san who gave us a wonderful talk about the many kinds of Matsuri (festivals) in her country—ranging from well-known ones like New Year’s Eve, Christmas, Carnival, Easter, and the famous Oktoberfest, to a special local event from her hometown, Düsseldorf’s Japan Day. It was fascinating to hear about how these celebrations bring people together across the seasons. I was personally surprised to learn that in Germany, New Year’s is often celebrated with friends rather than family, and that Carnival takes place in the middle of winter, quite the opposite of what I experience in Brazil!

    After Sylvia-san’s talk, we moved into our usual English chat sessions. As always, participants gathered in small groups, and conversations flowed easily and people shared their thoughts, experiences, and plenty of smiles throughout the discussions.

    This month also had a special addition: a cheerful Lunch Party! Onigiri and sandwiches were served, and everyone enjoyed the relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Following lunch, we held a Japan Culture Quiz, and to top it off, many participants wore Halloween hats and accessories, adding a festive touch to the day.

It was a wonderful way to celebrate the start of November, especially as the long summer finally gives way to the pleasant autumn breeze in Japan. Thank you to everyone who joined and made this month’s salon such a joyful and memorable event!

１１月はシルビアさんのショートスピーチ「ドイツの祭り、日本の祭り」が企画されています。参加希望の方の事前申し込みは不要、直接会場までお越しください。
11 月は通常のチャットサロンとは別に、事前申込み制でランチセッションと日本の文化クイズ大会を実施します。会費は 500 円です。

通常チャットのみの参加の方(11:45 まで) は、申込不要、参加費無！

2025/10/4 英語でおしゃべり 開催報告

 開催報告

10月のChat Salonでは、アメリカから来日中のEmilyさんとそのご家族をお迎えしました！Emilyさんはサロンの長年の友人でもあり、久しぶりの再会を楽しみにしていた参加者も多かったようです。今回も、多くの温かい交流と新しい発見にあふれた素敵な時間となりました。Emilyさんとご家族、そしてご参加くださった皆さま、本当にありがとうございました！

    We had a heartwarming session with our long-time friend Emily-san from the U.S., who visited Japan with her family. Emily-san shared a short speech about her life after returning to America, where she followed her passion and opened a second-hand bookstore. Her love for books continues to grow, and during her trip, she explored many bookstores across Japan. Her story reminded us how books can beautifully connect people across cultures and time.

    After her talk, the salon came alive with conversation. Participants were divided into tables, and Emily-san and her family each joined a different group. We enjoyed fun, insightful chats about life in Japan, the U.S., and everything in between. It was a joyful exchange filled with laughter and meaningful connections.

    To wrap up the day, we had a second round of talks—this time with no set theme. Just spontaneous, relaxed conversations about anything and everything. The casual atmosphere made it easy to connect and share freely. Sometimes, the best moments come when there’s no pressure at all.

    Thank you to everyone who joined and made this salon so lively and memorable.

Emily san’s five family members will be seated at five separate tables. Please join them at each table and enjoy a conversation. No specific topic will be set. Feel free to talk about the US and Japan or anything else.

・２nd session
We will shuffle all members and break into 7 tables. And there, please try “5 minutes Presentation” at each table. No pressure- just talk about whatever you love. Bringing some pictures or small items may be a good idea to make your presentation more interesting and easier

2025/9/6 英語でおしゃべり 開催報告

 開催報告

9月のMIFA Chat Salonでは、庄子さんによる「Interesting School Events in the US in the 90's」というショートスピーチで、アメリカの学校で行われるさまざまな行事についてご紹介いただきました。また、庄子さんが長年住んでいたインディアナポリスについても、興味深い fun facts をたくさん教えていただきました。

ショートスピーチの後は、参加者が4～5人ずつのテーブルに分かれて英語でおしゃべりを楽しみました。今回ご用意したテーマは「夏休みの体験談」「過去にヒヤッとしたこと」「今年やろうと思ってまだできていないこと」でした。さらに、ペアを組んでインタビュー形式で進め、相手に質問したあと、その内容を他のテーブルの皆さんに紹介していただく流れとなりました。

この形式によって、一人ひとりがしっかりと話す時間を持て、参加者全員にとって楽しく有意義な時間になったのではないかと思います。皆さまのご感想や、今後取り上げてみたいテーマについても、ぜひお聞かせください！
