 第140回MIFA Chat Salonのご案内

 

皆さま、こんにちは。
６月のチャットサロンのご案内です。
次回は、通常のチャットに加え　茶道の世界を体験する特別企画があります。
詳しくは下記1.の説明をご覧ください。
特別企画に参加を希望される方は、５/２４中に、ご返信をお願いします。５/１０のチャットサロンで既に申し込み済みの方は返信の必要はありません。特別企画に参加されない方は返信して頂く必要はありません。
当日受付へ直接お越しください。
チャットサロンではご希望があれば踏み込んだ議論ができる"Challenge Table"を設けます。ご希望の方は受付で申し出てください。
チャットの時間を最大限確保するため早めに受付にお越しください。 
当日のスケジュールを以下の通りお知らせいたします。
６月は通常月と異なるスケジュールとなっておりますのでご注意ください。

１．日時：６月７日(土）１０：００-１３：３０
　　①特別企画として懐石料理～TEA CEREMONY（11時４０分～１３時半）を実施します。
　　   特別企画に参加される方は参加費５００円をお願い致します。
　　②上記に不参加の方は１１時４０分で解散、参加費のお支払いは不要です。　　
 
２．場所：MIFA Training Center（The Log House）
 
３． Agenda  
 
(1)Introduction:  MC of this month by （Aritomi san）
 
(2)Short Speech: No short speech in this month
 
(3)Schedule
    １st session: 通常のチャットタイム　10:10-10:50
　　Theme: Let's talk about Japanese culture.
　　日本の伝統的な文化の背景や起源などトリビアを
　　披露してください！話の引出しが増えると良いですね。
 
　　２nd session: Lecture "World of the tea ceremony" by Kiyama san.
　　11:00-11:40　茶道が追求する世界の深淵に触れてみましょう。
　　（３rd sessionに参加されない方はここで解散と致します）
 
　　３rd session: 懐石料理～お菓子～抹茶のコースを体験（参加費５００円をお願いします）。
　　
(4)各テーブルにコーディネーターを設けます。English onlyの環境下で 楽しく賑やかに
会話を楽しみましょう。政治、宗教等の話題はheat upの元、自粛しましょう。
 
４．感染対策：以下のご協力をお願いします
(1) マスクの着用、不着用は個人の判断にお任せいたします。
(2) 入室時の手指消毒にご協力ください。
(3) 入室前に体温測定が可能です。症状がある方は参加をお控え下さい。

開催報告

5月のChat Salonでは、前田さんによるショートスピーチ "My Jakarta Night(mare)" が発表されました。前田さんのプレゼンテーションのスタイルと、ジャカルタでの個人的な体験談は、参加者全員に強い印象を与えました。
ブレイクアウトセッションの1回目は "Things I am curious about recently"、2回目は "My favorite neighborhood restaurant/shop." というテーマで行われました。皆さん、それぞれ話したいことがたくさんあったのではないかと思います。

It was a drizzly morning on May 10, and English language enthusiasts still made their way to the Log House to enjoy the Chat Salon.

Shoji-san, serving as the MC for the day, kicked off the event at 10 a.m. He briefly reviewed the different segments of the session before handing over the stage to Maeda-san, the presenter.

Maeda-san commenced his presentation titled “Jakarta Nightmare”, with an interesting warm-up quiz focused on the geographical locations of ASEAN countries. Then, he began narrating his life story, taking us back around 45 years, when he was residing in Jakarta with his wife and two local maids. He described how, amidst political unrest in Jakarta, they went through a horrific experience one night. An unruly mob of angry young men carrying large sticks and bats showed up at the gate of their property. He was overwhelmed by disturbing thoughts that they might harm him and his family. However, it turned out that the mob was after a thief who was hiding in a kennel on his premises. He concluded his presentation by saying that our fears are largely based on our assumptions. He then welcomed questions from the audience.

I observed that Maeda-san has a remarkable flair for storytelling. Though it was an extremely disturbing incident, it was incredibly interesting and engaging.

Subsequently, all the participants split into groups for the first breakout session.  As per the planned format, each member spoke on the topic, “Things I am curious about recently”, while others shared comments and asked questions. This was followed by a five-minute break.

Around 11: 15, the second breakout session began, during which participants talked about their favorite neighborhood restaurants/shops. One participant spoke about a newly opened Finnish restaurant in Moriya City.

At around 11:45, Shoji-san signaled the conclusion of the chat session with an announcement that the next Chat Salon is scheduled for June 7.  Kiyana-san provided additional details about the event, which will focus on Japanese culture. Many participants signed up to attend the traditional tea ceremony.

Overall, the Chat Salon on May 10 was a blend of an engaging presentation, structured chat sessions and a reflection of community engagement and collaboration.
