２０２３/2/4　英語でおしゃべり　開催報告

今回、MCはブラジル出身、現在都内会社勤務の

Santos　Eduard さんにおこなっていただきました。

今回のテーマが　” Festival "という事で、少しだけブラジルのカーニバルの

紹介をしてくださりました。

The Carnival is one of the main festivities in the Brazilian Calendar. 

It is usually held in February, starting in a Saturday and going all the 

way to Tuesday, followed by the start of lent, on Wednesday. Lent is a 

christian holiday where people are asked to refrain from eating meat, 

among other things. It is believed that the Carnival started in Europe, 

and flourished along with the christian culture, as a way of allowing 

the people to enjoy many pleasures before the entering the period of 

restraints of lent. In Brazil, there are many ways in which Carnival is 

celebrated, but the usual ones are to enjoy a big party out it in 

streets, or to join or watch the big samba parades, that are often 

broadcasted on TV.
